Biography
I am a native born Texan and grew up in Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World. After graduating high school, I was awarded an ROTC scholarship and attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. At Texas A&M, I was a member of the Corps of Cadets, Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, and the Ross Volunteer Company amongst other student organizations outside of the Corps. in August 1998, I completed my undergraduate degree as a Distinguished Military Graduate earning a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Finance and was commissioned in the United States Army as a second lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps and was placed on immediate active duty. I attended the Officer Basic Course in Fort Sam Houston, Texas and completed flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama in March 2000.
Upon my completion of flight school, I was assigned to the 236th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) in Landstuhl, Germany where I served as an Area Support MEDEVAC Section Leader, Forward Support MEDEVAC Section Leader, and the Headquarters & Operations Platoon Leader. This assignment provided many valuable leadership opportunities including deployments to Poland, Hungary, Kosovo, and Tunisia as well as multiple rotations at the Combat Maneuver Training Center.
Upon completion of my Germany assignment in December 2002, I attended the Aviation Captain's Career Course at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School (CAS3) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and was assigned to the 50th Medical Company (Air Ambulance), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. During my assignment to the Fightin' 50th, I served as the Operations / Executive Officer of the unit and deployed to Iraq from August 2003 thru February 2004 and again from November 2004 through November 2005.
In April 2006, I was assigned to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) where I served as the C Company Commander until February 2008 and had the fortune to command the LRMC's Warrior Transition Unit from February 2008 through June 2009. Setting different conditions for the family, I submitted my unqualified resignation and left active duty to continue to serve the Army only in a civilian uniform. In October 2009, I was hired by the Warrior Transition Battalion - Europe as the Comprehensive Transition Plan Program Manager, a capacity in which I served from October 2009 - June 2014 when I reported to the Army Medical Department Center & School and the Army-Baylor Masters in Health and Business Administration Program at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Upon completion of the didactic year in the Army-Baylor program, I will complete the administrative residency at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

My greatest honor bestowed upon me in my life has been marrying my wife, Zoey, and the accomplishment which brings me the most pride has been ushering two crumb snatchers into the world; my son, Jonathan, and my daughter, JJ.
